About:China Visa Application in UK

flight transit Beijing - Xiamen - Philippine

Hi.
We are flying from london to beijing then beijing to xiamen then xiamen to philippines. We were told that we need a visa to do this. Do we really need one just to transfer to another airport before we go to manila? Thanks

Debbie, how long is your total transfering time (the arrival time in Beijing to the departure time in Xiamen) in China?
If the total transfering time is less than 24 hours, you do not need it for the transfering. If it is over 24 hours, you need to have a Transit G type applied in advance.

Debbie, so your total transfering time in Bejing and Xiamen should be less than 9 hours. Then I don't think you need to apply for the Transit G type because you enjoy 24 hours free stay policy. However, you need to apply for a stay permit when you arrive at Beijing airport.

If you are still worried, you may call Beijing Airport Immigration Inspection at 0086-10-56095400 to confirm this.

Hi
i just want to be clear. So you mean XIAMEN is NOT on the 72hrs. transit free visa. But is only on the 24hrs. Transit free visa. Which means we dont need a visa to transfer from beijing to xiamen to manila. We are planning to go to chinese embassy(london)just to be sure about it.
and for me to show the air china.

Thankyou

Debbie, Xiamen hasn't implemented 72 hours free transit policy. Even it has such a policy, you still can't enjoy 72 hours free transit. It requires that you just stop by one city intead of two. In your case, a transit G is ok. And you should apply for it in advance before you arrive.
