Air travel restrictions for checked luggage

I bought a large chopping knife at a Chinese cooking class. Any issues checking that in my luggage for the flight back to the states? Using an American carrier. I have been able to travel with it on the train so far.

Kent, you can put it in your checked luggage. I took one back to USA when I studied there.
