About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Seoul-> Beijing --> HK?

My family plans to visit my husband and I in Seoul during the winter.
We wanted to travel from Seoul to Beijing for 72 hours and then fly to Hong Kong to visit (and then of course back to Seoul). Are we eligible for the 72 hour free visa if we go to Hong Kong before we go back to Seoul?

I'm getting confused with everything I'm reading....I'm hoping to fly from Hong Kong to Shanghai for 3 days, then to Beijing for another 3 days, then to Hawaii....am I allowed to enjoy the 72-hour free transit in each of these cities or do I have to pick one?
