About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelling from Sydney > Hong Kong (HK) > Guangzhou > HK > Sydney

Hello, we're planning on flying from Sydney to HK, and then from there taking the train up to Guangzhou after staying in HK for 4 days. After this, we'll be staying at Guangzhou for 4 days and then we'll be taking a train back to HK, staying there for an extra 3 days and flying back to Sydney. Do we have to apply for the 240hr visa free transit, as Australian citizens can enter HK for 90 days without applying for a visa, and can also enter China for 30 days without applying for a visa. Thank you!

The citizens of Australia can enter mainland China visa free for up to 30 days and they are not a subject of 24/240 hour visa free transit schemes. Your entry into mainland China is practically similar as it is your entry into Hong Kong. In other words, you can proceed with your travel plans with absolute peace of mind since you do not need any kind of visa and you are not a subject of 240 hour visa free transit. Have a nice visit to China.
