About:Visa Policy of China

I have a hk permanent i.d. card and a british passport. Do I need a visa for a weekend visit?

Do I need a visit for a weekend visit to Guangzhou if I want to travel around on my own? If so, can you arrange for one or do I need to go to the consulate. If so, how long will it take to arrange and can you arrange a multi entry one for a year?

Yes, you need a single entry tourist one for visiting Guangzhou. You are suggested to find a HK tour agency to help you to get a Tourist L, otherwise, it may be hard for you to get one.

Usually, it takes around three working days to get one. If you are urgent to get one, you can apply for the fastest type with higher fee. The fastest type is to obtain with 24 hours.
