Early termination of assignment contract and the consequence

I have a residence permit valid until 31 Mar 2015 but now I terminate my contract by 31 Aug 2014. When I have to inform the entry/exit admininistration at the latest and then I need a Z visa for the last few days?

As I know, it is not necessary to inform the entry/exit administration about your current working situation, so that you do not need to apply a new Z for staying. If you can keep a well and peaceful relationship with the employer, they usually will not cancel your residence permit, so you can use it to stay in China till it will be expire.

I think you mean the Resident Permit will be expired in October, right?
Generally speaking, the company will not cancel your resident permit, but for most cases will cancel your work permit.

So if you have bad relationship with your employer, it may cancel your work permit, but you can still use your resident permit to live till Oct.
