About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

L Type restrictions?

I want to rule out this potential rumor.

Is it possible to extend with MORE THAN 7 DAYS remaining on the visa? If I have 25 days left can I extend it?

Thank you.

Yes, sure. You can extend anytime but no less than 7 days before it expires.

Thank you for the input. One more question. I live in Vietnam and applied via Vietnam which only got me a 20 day Visa. Can I still be eligible to extend by 30 days, or will I only be granted a similar time to it?

You can use it to enter China first and they apply for extension while you are in China. As I know, extension will not be issued longer than the original duration of stay. So, it is 20 days at most in your situation.

I apologize for being potentially abusive of this forum, but you all have been very helpful.

So here's one more question:

Would it be unwise to apply for extension, leave my passport in the hands of the psb, travel around without it, and then retrieve it?

It is ok of course, because you will be given a receipt form stating that your application is under processing.
