are there time restrictions on the 3rd county?

I am US citizen planning to travel Singapore - Beijing (stay 72 hours) - purchase separate flight Beijing to Bangkok - then Singapore.  Do I have to spend a certain amount of time in Bangkok?  Can it just be a few hour layover??

It doesn't matter how long you stay in Bangkok. However, you should have the ticket from Beijing to Bangkok when you land at Beijing airport. It's impossible for you buy the air ticket from Beijing to Bangkok after you arrive in Beijing.
