I will be travelling to Taipei from 11 May to 18 May 2014, will it be rainy, normally the rain would be mild?

Yes, it will rain at that time. Because it is during the rainy season, there will be light rain, moderate rfain and heavy rain, not that mild. An umbrella or other rainy gear will be necessary.
