i was already booked for my Hong Kong holiday vacation dated December 14, 2013 to January 2, 2014 without me knowing the only allowed is 14 days do i still need to get a visa for my stay?

Yes, if you want to stay for more than 14 days, you should better apply for a tourist HK tourist visa in advance. So, just submit your application to Chinese embassy during their working hours.
