About:China Work Visa

Do I need a Z type work visa for China if I am going for one job as a subcontractor?

My husband and I have been invited to work on some medical equipment. Do we need a Z? We will be there for approximately one week. Are we responsible for applying, or does the employer who is hiring us do that for us?

If you will stay for one week, a business F is enough. You need to apply for it by yourself from Chinese embassy or consulate in your place. Invitation letter from your employer is required for application.
