Shanghai to Suzhou by trains

I will be in Shanghai in early May, and would like to go to SZ for 2 days (1 night) by train. Apart from sight seeing the town, can you recommend the most interesting place to go within 2 days as a tourist. I'm very fond with China history, but it might not possible for me to visit all of the historical places there within the limited time. Need your assistance. Thanks.
