From Beijing to Xanadu (Inner Mongolia)

Dear All, How can I get by bus / train from Peking to Xanadu - World Heritage Site, 270 km north of BJ (closest big city - Doulun, Inner Mongolia) ? Are there direct buses from BJ, or should I go somewhere and change the bus / train there ?
I will be travelling in February, Jarek from Poland
