About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I fly from USA to Guagzhou and stay for 2 days then take a bullet train to Hong Kong?

But I don’t have the train tickets yet to show them. I will buy the tickets when I’m there. Can I show them my tickets flying from Hong Kong to Japan in 5 days ? Or hotel tickets in Hong Kong ?

The official requires a leaving ticket to the third country or region, so I'm afraid you do need a booked train ticket to show the immigration.

If you fail to get a ticket, then GZ - HK ferry is also a choice with longer presales period.
