Transiting with Kids

I'm travelling with my two young children on 12 Jan, from Melbourne Australia to London, with a 17 hour stop over in Pudong. I have booked a night at the Qube but a bit worried it's too far to get to with the kids. Do you suggest the Airport Hotel 1688? Also, do I need to apply for a transit visa in advance? If so, how? And do you know if I can leave my big bags at the airport/checked all the way through to London so I don't have to take them if I leave the airport?

Hi, Steph. As I know, the Qube Hotel is only about 10min driving distance from the airport. So you can still stay there as you booked. And the hotel also provides free hotel shuttle bus to the airport. I think Qube Hotel is much better than Airport Hotel 1688.

For the transit, you don't need a visa to go out, showing valid passport, visa of your destination country and connecting flight ticket.

As for your luggage, if you checked all the way through to London, you can certainly leave it at the airport during the time as you are travel outside.
