I was talking to a couple of travel agencies and the said January is a lil too cold for visits and there are not very many. Then I was told that they might not let us on the Great wall cause it might be to slippery. so im not to sure if your country would be the right place to go in January

Well, I don't think so. It is cold in January indeed but it is no problem to visit the country in winter. The only thing you should do is just to wear the heavy clothes to keep you warm. The scenery of Great Wall in winter will be totally different and it will also be less crowded. As I know, some tourists visit the Great Wall specially in winter. Here is my suggestion only for your reference.
