vacation visa

Question

I am a US citizen and will be leaving on a vacation to China from Canada.Can I get a visa in Ottawa while in Canada or do I have to get it in the USthank you

You'd better apply for a China visa in the US, your application will be denied in Canada because you are not a resident in Canada, for non-Canadian applicants, the Canada work permit or residence permit with at least 6 months validity is required.
