About:Chinese Embassy in Switzerland

US citizen living in France, working in Switzerland (CERN)

Hello,

I'm a US citizen living on the French side of the border of France and Switzerland, but working in Switzerland (at CERN). I'm planning on visiting my brother for a week (staying with him for the duration) in Shanghai in early May, so I'm planning on coming to the Chinese consulate in Bern to apply for a visa. Could you please advise me on which documents I should bring for this to be a smooth procedure?

As I understand it I will need:

1) Passport
2) Swiss work permit
3) Flight tickets
4) Application forms, both version A and B

Not sure, but bringing anyways:

4) Brother's address/contact info
5) French residency card

Second, my Swiss visa has expired since arrival, but this isn't an issue for my stay in Europe because of my Swiss work permit. Will this be an issue for my Chinese visa application?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,
Aaron
