The two of us are arriving at Pudong Airport 6.30am and plan to go to Hangzhou from there, if possible, and spend a night in Hangzhou. The next evening depart for Suzhou, before coming back in the evening to Shanghai. Please advise the best mode of transport, train or coach with minimal delay. Or other ways? Appreciate it, thank you.

Pudong Airport has direct shuttle buses to Hangzhou but the earliest is leaving at 10:10. If you can not wait, you should go by airport bus to Shanghai South Railway Station to catch bullet train to Shanghai (airport bus: one hour or so, bullet train: 1.5 hours to Hangzhou). Hangzhou East/North bus stations has direct buses to Suzhou, taking a bit over 2 hours. If you like, you can take cruise ship along the Grand Canal, Leaving from Wulinmen Dock in Hangzhou at 17:30 and arrive in Suzhou 7am next day. Suzhou back to SHanghai: by bus: about 1.5 hours, bullet train: half an hour
