About:China Business Visa

I am going to china in January. First I will be arriving in Beijing and studying for one semester (6 months) i would like to work part time during this period. I guess I will apply for a X visa. right?

But then in June/july I will move to Shanghai for work. I will be working for a british company with no base in China. I will be there only representative. I will be working for a minimum of 6 months but likely to be more possibly lead on to 1 or 2 years. So is it the z or f visa that suits me. and will i be able to change over from x, to z or f without having to leave the country. all visas i would like to be multiple entry.

what do you suggest and what documents will i need.

Thanks for your help

For 6 months study in China, you need to apply for a Business (F) visa. Generally, you need to apply for a new work visa out of China, or you can apply from HK. Some powerful agencies may help you to change visa types within China, but it costs much.

Mr.Jones, China Student Visa is divided into two types, for more than 6 months study, you need to apply for X visa, for less than 6 months study, you need to apply for F visa.

You can apply for F or Z visa to work in Shanghai, but the difficulty is that the British company is not registered in China, the company can't provide you the required documents for F visa or Z visa application. You can first contact the company to deal with this issue.
