About:China Visa Fees

Hello...

I came to China in April with a double entry tourist visa, 90days each stay. In July, I was given an extension that allowed me to travel to Bangkok for a week long holiday, and upon my return my final 90 days would be activated. I arrived back in China 1st of August, thinking that having paid 465yuan to Nanjing PSB, my finaL 90 days would be unaffected. However, after moving to Shenzhen I had the misfortune of crossing swords with the PSB, who informed me my second 90 days were actually cancelled and my visa was null and void - Instead they had only given me a 1 month visa, even though I had paid the price for a special extension... Also, my passport was stolen from me, which puts me in a sticky situation - I must again visit the PSB to obtain a 'confirmation of loss' -without it, I cannot apply for a UK passport.... My concern is that they will detain me immediately and I feel particularly vulnerable without my passport as ID and backup. Im quite willing to pay the fine to leave China, but will they allow me to wait for the arrival of my new passport and more importantly will they give ne the confirmation loss without hassle?

Ms.B, I am confused with your saying, do you mean you visit China on the first entry from April to July? and was given an extension to leave China?? what is this??for what reason, overstay your first 90 days duration? As my knowledge about visa, you can leave China within the 90 days, and back again anytime before the visa expires. If you did overstay, the other entry of your visa was cancelled.
now, you need to pay fine and leave China after you get the new passport from your embassy in China. Don't worry, they will not detain you.

Hi Mr Hayden, Thanks for the quick reply

I came to China on 7th April for my first 90 days , but went to Bangkok on the 28th July - 1st August. The reason for this new extension, was because my holiday was booked after my 1st 90 days were finished, and I needeed to exit before this date in order to activate the final 90 days. I was told a new visa would allow me to take my holiday on this date and still have another valid entrance. I was informed by Nanjing PSB and my chinese translator, that all documents were processed legally and accordingly. Its a confusing situation, yes, but now my main focus is to get out fo China quickly and quietly. I am going to travel in other parts of South East Asia - hence why I dont want to be deported as this may affect future travel.
Many thanks again

There is no such thing as an extension, this is a common misundertsanding. When you were issued with a NEW visa in Nanjing it immediately replaced any existing visa. As it was issued inside China it does not allow any further entries, so to re-enter China you need a new visa

Sorry I forgot your second part. Now that you are without a passport, you must follow then procedures. You are unlikely to be detained or receive any hassle when you visit the PSB, but it is essential you have a competent translator. They will issue with the document that confirm the loss which will allow you to move around in China (mainland) while you get a new passport. Or, the UK Consulate can issue you a document that enables you to travel directly home: IF it decides you are genuine.
