About:Shenzhen Train

We are four members of family. We are visiting Hong Kong mid June, 2010. From Hong Kong, we wish to go to Shenzhen by Train for a day visit only (without night stay). Please inform on the following queries:-

1. Do we need Visa? (We are informed here that as per new Rules, Visa is exempted for a group of 3 and more persons. Or there shall not be any Visa Fee.)

2. If Visa required, then what are the formalities (Fee etc.) at the Station? Can we pay in HK Dollars?

3. How long it takes to get the Visa? Should we visit on any particular day (say, weekdays or weekends) to avoid rush?

4. Where to shop in Shenzhen & how to reach there?

You need visa to enter Shenzhen from Hong Kong. It is not visa free, that means you can have visa on arrival at the border. Fee is about 150HKD/RMB. Yes, a bit rush in weekend, better to go in weekdays. It would take a few minutes to get the visa if there are not crowded visitors. If you enter Shenzhen through Luohu Border, you can get around Luohu Commer City when you just pass the custom. You can also take shenzhen subway from Luohu to Dongmen Laojie, two stops only.
