About:Yinchuan

I am going to Kathmandu and wish to apply for a chinese visa-what do i need? is it necessary to show a flight ticket in and out? Anything else that's unique for chinese visa?

Also I heard that in some countries, such as Vietnam, it's possible only for local citizens to apply for visa at the Chinese embassy. It's not the case in Nepal, is it?

Thnx,

Gidi

yes, generally sepaking, for a visa application in a thirdd country/region, An applicant holding a passport other than Nepal passport should provide the original and a copy of his permanent residence or work permit in Nepal which should be valid for at least half a year (except for those who are visa or permit exempt for residing or working in the Malaysia).

Maybe you will also be required for the permanent residence or work permit in Nepal, why not apply for China visa in Israel? It will be easier for you to get a China visa in Israel.

The reason is I'm currently in India and will not be in Israel before my flight to China from Kathmandu which wasn't planned when I left Israel. I know it's possible to apply for the visa in India but it's not in my plan to go through any major city before I reach Nepal.

Is there anyone who knows if I can apply for Chinese visa in Kathmandu without being a peminant resident in Nepal?

Thanks

Gidi

Travelers often need to obtain visas while en route, in another country, for example, you are austrians, you can also apply for a Chinese visa at China Embassy in Berlin, Germany. While it is possible to obtain visas in this situation it has become more difficult recently. Some Chinese visa offices are refusing to issue visas to persons who are not resident in the country concerned. In some cases having a visa for that country is considered OK, but this might be of no help if you are in a country where you do not require a visa.

There is no simple answer to this issue, nor is it clear exactly why this rule exists. The first option is to try at every Chinese Consulate that you pass in the hope that one will grant a visa. Another possibility is that if you can manage without your passport for a couple of weeks, you express mail or courier your passport and application to a friend or agent in your own country and have it sent back to you when the visa has been issued.
