Mr.matt eliott, Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China apply different exit & enter controls, they have different visa regulations, if you travel to Hong Kong means exit Mainland China, it is counted as a new entry if you return to Mainland China from Hong Kong. You can get another 60 days stay in Mainland China for this new entry.
