One more thing: I have two other friends traveling with me who can share the taxi fare. How much roughly would it cost if we take a cab all the way to the terracotta warriors straight from the Melody Hotel?

it should be no more than 300RMB for round trip from Melody hotel to Terra Cotta Warriors and back to the hotel. Walk about the price with taxi drivers before getting on the cab.
