I'm interested to bring my family 2 (with 2 kids 10 and 12 yrs old) to Beijing or Chengdu. My priorities is to have experience in below area:1. Beautiful Country side - with snow2. Exprience at one of the Ancient City / Area at any place within these 2 city3. Traditional craft / especially embroidery, painting  and silk production (The place of making or place selling those products).4. Garden with blossom / cherry flower5. How long is the best duration 2 travel between these 2 cities6. What is the best/ practical transportation from Chengdu to Beijing? If I'm going to Chengdu from KL and coming back to KL from Beijing. How about taking train / bus from Chengdu to Beijing? 7. It is ok to travel without using travel agency.8. What is the best time to go there - how about end of Jan until February?9. For a Muslim family, is it easy to get Muslim food / restaurant at both City.10. Any TRavel Agency, would you like to recommend that can provide the above plan / desire.

When are you going. To see beautiful countrysude and old city, Chengdu seems to be better choice, but may not have snow. The best way to shuttle between these two cities are airplane. Or you need to spend at least 25 hours to go by train. If time is not a problem, suggest you go by train which is cheaper. Yes, you can travel withou travel agency, but you need to prepare a lot of work for your trip in these two cities. Arrange your own schedule.
