About:Chinese Consulate in Vancouver

i am a canadian citizen. my 3 year old son is a canadian citizen born in china. my wife holds a canadian permanent resident card and an expired chinese passport. we would like to return to china to visit in-laws in the near future. obviously she's going to need to get a new chinese passport before we travel (any idea of how much, etc?). my son and i will also need visas (my son is 3). is this all done at the same office? now that she's a permanent resident, she no longer needs a visa to return to canada, correct? am i missing anything?

I only know that you should apply for the China visa from the China embassy or consulate in Canada. I'm afraid you have to contact the China embassy or consulate for detailed and exact info.
