About:Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar

Hello there, this is Haslinda. I would like to go to Chengdu from 7 October to 12 October. Is it a good time to do so, considering that it is the week of China's National Day (1st October onwards)? I want to avoid crowds, shortage of rooms, etc. Also, where should I stay in Chengdu, if I want to stay at only one place (ie without moving around with my luggage)? Jiuzhaigou is 400 km from Chengdu town. So, I was thinking of giving this place a miss first. What can I do in Chengdu if I choose not to visit Juizhaigou and the Panda research centre? Thank you.

Hi,Haslinda. I went to Chengdu this June and now give you some suggestions based on that. I don't go to Jiuzhaigou and panda research center. Actually, you can visit these places as i did: Dujiang Irrigation Project, Mt. Qingcheng, Thatched Cottage of Du Fu, Chuxi Road, Jinli Street. Furthmore, E'mei Mountain, Wenshu Monastery and Wuhou Memorial Temple are also recommended.
You can stay at a hotel along Chunxi Road of the downtown Chengdu. Chunxi Road is a walking street with lots to eat, lots to buy and lots to entertain. Wish you a good time :)

I think by the time you arrive in Chengdu (7th October you said), that would also be the tail end of their National Day celebrations. Therefore, should be quite "safe" to go. Have fun!

Ms Melissa, May I ask you why you did not visit Jiuchaiguo and the Panda Research Centre, please? These are famous places, right? I will be in Chengdu from middle of November to early December. Looks like I may have to give Jiuchaiguo a miss too, as I heard it could be snowing by then. Do you think I would enjoy a week-long atay in Chengdu, without going to Jiuchaiguo, please? Thanks.

Lol, time limit and some other reasons... They are famous places as most people know, but it doesn't mean you must include them in your trip, right? especially when it's not the best time to visit. Without going to Jiuzhaigou, you can also have a week-long good time in Chengdu.

Hi Ho, a week-long stay in Chengdu, of course you still be able to enjoy here. Teahouse everywhere here, you may spend your leisure time as local people, experience their lifestyle here. Within Chengdu city there are lot of places of interest, such as Jinsha Ruins,Jinli Street, Wuhou Temple, Kuanzhai Alley, Chunxi Road, Dufu cottage, etc...sure you won't be bored here. But still suggest don't miss Giant Panda Research Centre, Jiuzhaigou, Leshan Giant Buddha, Mt.Emei, worth to visit. Wish you have a nice trip here, cheers.
