About:Tianjin Travel

bullet train to Beijing from Tianjin Xingang Port.

We are arriving by cruise ship at the Xingang port, and want to take the bullet train to Beijing. I've read the other posts here, but have the following questions:
1. How long wshould a taxi take to get from the port to the Tianjin train station, and what should it cost?
2. Other posts say there is more than one train station in Tianjin. If so, which train staiondo we want and how do we communicate that to a taxi driver (we only speak English)?
3. Could someone post, in Chinese characters, something we can give to a taxi driver asking him to take us to the correct train station?
Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Firstly, there two railway station in Tianjian, one is called Tanggu Railway Station (塘沽火车站)which is just 8kms from the Xingang Port. The other one is called Tianjin Railway Station (天津火车站), located 50kms from the Xingang Port at least. However, everyday, the former one just has four bullet trains to Beijing and the latter one has much more. You could search the train infor at https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/

Taxi from port to Tanggu: about 10 minutes and 20RMB
Taxi from port to Tianjin Railway Station: about one hour and no less than 100RMB.

Thank you, Mr. Shan. We arrive around 7:30 am, and want to take the earliest possible train to Beijing. The only bullet train from Tanggu that works for us leaves at 8:30 am. I think we can get to the train station by about 8:00 am. If we get there by that time, can we buy tickets for the 8:30 am train? Would we have time to wait in line, buy the tickets and still get on the train brfore it leaves? I read on another post that it may not be possible to buy tickets for the next train.

Because we don't speak Mandarin, we would like to arrange for an English speaking guide (or taxi driver who speaks enough English) to meet us at the Xingang port with a taxi, take us to the train station, and help us buy tickets and get ton the right train. We are willing to pay for this service. Would any of you be able to help us, or can you refer me to someone who can?

Yes, it is hard to buy the ticket just for the next train and not impossible at all if it is weekends. So, if you ar not in hurry, you can buy the ticket a bit later. As to the guide, I am afraid I can not help. You can print or write the chinese characters and show the driver your destination. It is not a difficult thing. Good Luck.
