I've heard some reports that permits/permission is required from the police in order to take the bus between Golmud and Dunhuang.  I would arrive in Golmud late Friday evening and so if this is still true I would have to wait until Monday for the bus.  Does anybody know if foreigners need permission from the police to take this bus?Thanks

As I know, foreign travelers had to get an Alien Travel Permit before purchasing the bus ticket to Dunhuang in last year. Seems this is true~
