Ms. Maneka, I am confused with your question. "Will I need Chinese visa to stay 8 hours at the Bankok airport?" You won't enter the border of China, right? Why do you need a Chinese visa?

Yes, passport holders from Sri Lanka (except diplomatic and official passport holders)are required to hold a valid visa for HK(including those who transit through the airport). The rule has been in effect since February 2008.
