About:Embassy & Consulates of Canada in China

Hello,

I am traveling to Beijing February 26th. I plan to marry my Fianc who is Chinese National in the City of Harbin. I am told I that I will only need my Canadian passport and a certificate in Chinese and English notarized to prove that I am single. Can you please explain to me where and how can I can acquire one of these certificates and have it notarized? Also can you please confirm that those are the only documents that I will require?

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards, Jim Gill

Your Fiancee (not fiance i guess) should show her ID card, Household Register, single certificate and three photoes. You have to take your valid passport or other valid international travel documents, single certificate issued by public notary organizations of your country attested by Chinese Embassy in Canada or Canadian Embassy in China, or you can directly ask the single certificate for Canadian Embassy in China. Then you should go to the marriage registration office in which her residence is registered in Harbin.
