About:Jin Dynasty

i've been told there is a southern and northern jin dynasty but not an eastern and western. Im confused :< well thanks for the info. anyway :)

It's called that way because of the relative locations of their capitols.

North Jin got their ass kicked by foreign invaders and set up another capitol in the south, hence South Jin.

The same logic goes for the Han Dynasty. To oversimplify, there was a civil uprising, so the capitol changed from the western Chang'an to the eastern Luoyang, which is why it's called West Han and East Han.

Sorry, it's east and west Jin, but it's still according to the relative position of the capitol.
