About:China Customs Declaration

I would like to bring some Strawberry conserve and marmalade into China. Does this have the same restriction as Fresh fruit? Also do i have to declare my Camera, MP3 player etc even though they have been bought in a retail shop (ie not duty-free).

For you first question:
I haven't heard preserve is not allowed to take. However, please don't carry too much and remember it's only for your own use.

For you second question:
You can personal effects worth not more than 5000 Chinese yuan. So, if the total price of your camera, MP3 player etc. is less than 5000 yuan, you just need to fill in two declaration forms. But if it's over 5000 yuan, you should pay Customs duty for the extra.
