About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240 Hour stay: Seoul-Beijing (stay 7 days), Shanghai-Tokyo (4 days), Tokyo-Seoul (6 days)

I am flying from Seoul to Beijing on April 10 for one of your tours. I fly out of Shanghai on April 17. My ticket goes from Shanghai to Tokyo (3 nights in Tokyo) to Seoul. Would I qualify for a 240 hour stay? I can book the tickets as a multicity Seoul to Beijing then Shanghai to Tokyo. Then buy a 1-way ticket from Tokyo to Seoul (if that would be better). I'm a US citizen.

Your itinerary is definitely and undeniably eligible for 240 hour visa free transit because the immediate points before and after mainland China are located in two different countries (South Korea and Japan). You can buy your ticket as a multi-city or separate or in the way you like. It is just important to retain the sequence of countries you will use for your travel in the way as you have presented. Again, your itinerary is definitely eligible, you do not need any kind of visa and I wish you a wonderful journey.
