VOA inquiry

Do West Kowloon high speed train from HK to Shenzhen station has booth to apply for the VOA 5 days visa with US passport? How much currently the application fees and how many hours we should factor in waiting time for the visa. Thank you.

Unfortunately, you cannot take a direct HK West Kowloon station to Shenzhen train because there is no visa facility located at West Kowloon train station. Your best choice is to use Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing that you can easily reach by MTR East Rail Line suburban train from the center of Hong Kong. There you will cross the border line and at Luohu you will apply for a Shenzhen VOA.

The price is the same for all citizenship, US included and it is 130 CNY. Preferred method of payment is by your banking card, but they will also accept Chinese cash. You should count on factoring about up to 90 minutes or at most 120 minutes for the entire border crossing procedure and visa application/issuing included. You should just avoid morning rush hour from roughly 08:00 until 10:00 and afternoon one from roughly 16:00 until 18:00 (19:00). Have a nice visit to Shenzhen.
