About:Visa on Arrival

VOA for U.S citizen

Are US citizens able to get a VOA for 1 day into Shenzen. I would need to visit a factory that invited me as I land in Hong Kong within a week. Should I say I am just visiting a factory at their request and not doing any type of audits

Yes, of course. You can depart from Hong Kong Airport (via its Skypier terminal) to Shekou in Shenzhen or use a suburban MTR train (East Rail Line) from the center of Hong Kong to Lo Wu where you will exit Hong Kong and enter Shenzhen at Luohu border crossing (on a walking distance from Lo Wu). There you will apply for a Shenzhen VOA and you will be granted a visa. It will be up to you to visit a factory or have a sightseeing. This is all acceptable. After your visit to Shenzhen is over, you can return to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing and also to take any mean of transport, high speed train (from Futian station - very centrally located in Shenzhen) included. Have a nice visit to Shenzhen.
