About:Visa on Arrival

Does this policy still apply to US citizens?

Will be staying in Hong Kong for two weeks and want to make a day trip to Shenzhen.

Yes, it definitely does. You can enjoy your day trip to Shenzhen and the best border crossing is definitely Lo Wu / Luohu that you can easily reach by MTR East Rail Line from the center of Hong Kong. Have a nice visit to Shenzhen.
