About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover

I am eligible to avail 240 hours TWOV policy

My question is if I book a single ticket for both onward and return journey will it be valid. example
India -> Beijing -> Hongkong -> India
Will Hongkong be considered a third country on return or they will look at India as both start and end point

Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit because the immediate points before and after mainland China are located in two different countries / eligible territories, India and Hong Kong. Please, have in mind that only the immediate points, before and after mainland China, regardless of their nature and/or length, matter. In other words, your itinerary will be seen in the eyes of the Chinese immigration official as a transit between India and Hong Kong regardless of the fact that Hong Kong is maybe just a very short stop where you will just change the planes/flights without even exiting formally into Hong Kong. You can proceed with your travel plans with absolute peace of mind. Have a nice visit to China.
