About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Inquiry about 24-hour visa-free transit eligibility in China

I am a Vietnamese passport holder and will travel from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Amsterdam, Netherlands. My itinerary is operated by China Southern Airlines under the same booking reference as follows:

11 March 2026Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) → Shenzhen (SZX)

11 March 2026Shenzhen (SZX) → Beijing (PKX)

12 March 2026Beijing (PKX) → Amsterdam (AMS)

The total transit time in China is less than 24 hours, and all flights are booked under the same airline and ticket.

I understand that China offers a 24-hour visa-free transit policy for international passengers traveling to a third country. I would like to kindly confirm whether my itinerary (with a domestic transfer from Shenzhen to Beijing) is eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit policy, or if I need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance.

Thank you.

Ngoc, in general, if your total transit time in China is shorter than 24 hours, you are good to go. Have a nice journey.
