You can do it in the following way:
- Buy your exit, train ticket from mainland China to Hong Kong West Kowloon station for the date you would like to leave mainland China. Print it out or at least have it as a screenshot.
- Take a taxi or public transport to Hengqin border crossing located in the southern part of Macau (Cotai area).
- Here you will clear Macau exit formalities and mainland China entry formalities in the same premises of Hengqin border crossing facility and here you will be asked to present your exit train tickets to Hong Kong West Kowloon station.
- You will just walk through a passageway to reach Hengqin railway station. From here you will take a train (15 - 20 minutes or ride) to Zhuhai train station. You should not buy your Hengqin to Zhuhai train ticket in advance, but in person at the ticket counter of Hengqin train station. There are roughly 35 daily departures from Hengqin to Zhuhai train station, so you will just wait for the first available train.
- When you reach Zhuhai train station you will take a train to Guangzhou.
- When the date of departure from mainland China arrives,you will take exactly that train to Hong Kong West Kowloon station that you have presented at Hengqin border crossing.
- When you arrive in Hong Kong you can return to Macau or travel wherever you want.
