Unfortunately, it is not possible to use a high speed train if you plan to travel to Shenzhen based on Shenzhen 5 day visa on arrival. Just to simplify... West Kowloon station in Hong Kong where both Hong Kong and mainland China immigration offices are co-located in the same premises, does not have a visa office. Consequently, it is impossible to travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen under this visa on arrival scheme. However, it is possible to take a high speed train from Shenzhen to Hong Kong when your visit to Shenzhen is over.
So, I would suggest you to take a MTR East Rail Line from the center of Hong Kong to Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing where you will obtain a Shenzhen 5 day visa on arrival. Basically you will enter Shenzhen on foot. After your day visit you can take any border crossing and any mean of transport, high speed train included, to return to Hong Kong. The most convenient train station in Shenzhen to travel to Hong Kong is definitely Futian station. Have a nice visit to Shenzhen.
