Vietnamese hold HKID going to Shenzhen for 2 days trip

I'm Vietnamese holding a HKID. I'm planning to visit Shezhen for 2 days and I will be travelling from Hong Kong. I want to ask if I can apply for VOA at one of available ports or I must obtain a China visa beforehand.
Thank you in advance!

Cherry, Vietnamese citizens are formally eligible for Shenzhen 5 day visa on arrival, but the feedback about their success rate is practically non-existent and in this regard I would suggest you to postpone your visit to Shenzhen or to obtain a Chinese visa in advance. You can try your luck, especially since you have regulated residence in Hong Kong (HKID) and that could increase your chances, but if I were you I would not do that because you do not need any disappointments. Hope this helps.
