About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Transit visa question

We are flying from the UK via Hong Kong to Beijing where we'll stay for 2 nights. We then travel to Shanghai for a further 3 nights before joining a 7 day cruise to Japan. On returning to Shanghai we then fly back to the UK via Hong Kong. Are we able to make use of multiple transit visas or should we apply for a full visa?

You can make use of the 240h visa free transit twice, one applied in Beijing and one in Shanghai, so you don't need a visa.
