About:China Visa-free Policy

if the visa free policy expires on the 31.12.2025 will i have to leave if i enter on the 20.12.2025

i am planning to fly into beijing for 28 days from the 21st of december i have New zealand passport, will need to go home on the 31st or am i allowed to stay as i entered before the free 30 day visa policy expires...

No, you don't need to go home before 31/12/2025. You can stay for 30 days after entering before 31/12/2025.

I have a similar situation. My sister will be staying with me from December 27 in Shenzhen, but she plans to travel to Hong Kong and Macau in the first week of January. When she returns back to Shenzhen from this trip, she will not be able to take advantage of the 30-day visa waiver, but will she be able to take advantage of the 5-day visa on arrival if she stays only in Shenzhen?
