About:China Visa Application in USA

Traveling from USA to Tokyo to Beijing via cruise ship, do I need a Visa?

I am traveling from the USA to Toyko to get on a cruise ship to Beijing. We are doing a five day extension in Xian and Beijing. We are stopping in Shanghai for one day, Qingdao for one day, Dalian for one day, Xian for two days and Beijing for three days. Do I need to get a Visa for this trip. If not, is my passport the only thing I need to enter and exit China.

Where will you go after your China trip, Claudia? If you head to the third countries other than Japan, you can enjoy the 240h visa free transit. In this case, you don’t need to prepare a visa. Just bring your passport and the ticket to a third country with a confirmed date.
