About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Planned trip USA-China-Hong Kong-USA

Hello,. We have a planned trip, flying from USA and arriving in Beijing afternoon or evening on 9/15/2025.The tour will start with on 9/16 from Beijing, on 9/18 going to Xi'an,9/21 going to Chengdu, on 9/23 going to Gullin,9/24 Guilin-Yangzhou-Guilin,on 09/25 we will leave some time during the day Guilin -Hong Kong with train ,and on 9/27 will fly back to USA .Are we eligible for the 240 h visa free transit ?Thank you in advance, Regards, Ekaterina

Yes, your itinerary, as it is presented, is definitely and without any doubt eligible for 240 hour visa free transit in all aspects and you do not need any kind of visa. Since you plan to exit mainland China to Hong Kong by train, you will have to buy that particular train ticket in advance, even before you depart from the US. When you buy your exit ticket for Hong Kong, you will print out the confirmation that will be sent to your email inbox and have that printout with you, at hand because you will be asked to present that particular ticket in both US at the time of your check-in and also upon your landing in Beijing. Please, have in mind that it is expected that you take exactly that train toward Hong Kong that you have bought in advance. Have a nice visit to China.
