About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Eligibility for 240 hours visa free

I have U.S. passport. My planned trip route:
Tokyo-Shanghai-Chengdu-Lanzhou-Taipei
Is it eligible for 240 hours visa free?

Wei-Ming, when traveling on 240 hour visa free transit you have to be aware that not all the China is allowed to visit. Lanzhou is not within that area. So, it is fine for you to visit Shanghai and Chengdu, but not Lanzhou. In general, if you drop out your intention to visit Lanzhou, you itinerary is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Have a nice visit to China.

If I apply regular visa, can I travel to Lanzhou in addition to Shanghai and Chengdu?
