From HK to Shenzhen stays for 3-4 nights, return to HK stays for 3-4 nights, then flying back to US. The period of time is about 8 days. Am I qualified for 240 hrs visa-free?

Actually, you cannot use 240 hour visa free transit because this is a return trip and not a transit, but you can use 5 day Shenzhen visa on arrival without any problem. Also, when traveling to or via Hong Kong it is important to understand that Hong Kong has different immigration laws and the stay in Hong Kong is not counted against 240 hours. 240 hours are valid for mainland China only. So, you will arrive in Hong Kong visa free and after that your planned stay or immediately, you will proceed to Shenzhen. If you plan to proceed immediately to Shenzhen you are advised to use Skypier and from there by ferry dircetly to Shekou in Shenzhen even without passing through Hong Kong immigration. There are about 10 daily departures and you can buy a ticket from HKIA Skypier to Shekou online at Chu Kong Passenger Transport Company (CKS) website (cksp.com.hk/#/main/home ). It is important to understand that you should not exit the airport toward Hong Kong immigration, but to continue toward Skypier. There the airport staff will transfer your luggage to the ferry and the ferry will take you to Shekou where you will apply for Shenzhen 5 days visa on arrival. You should just check whether the airline you will fly into Hong Kong is associated with this very convenient option. Once when you arrive in Shekou that is a neighborhood of Shenzhen, you will take a taxi to your destination in that city, after you obtain a visa at local visa office.. By far the best option without any doubt. The price of 5 day Shenzhen VOA is 130 CNY and you will pay that amount by your card. After your stay in Shenzhen, you will travel to Hong Kong and here the most recommended option is to take a high speed train to Hong Kong West Kowloon station. Again, when you arrive in Hong Kong it is visa free for you. Have a nice visit to both Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
