Cities along the Beijing Guangzhou train route

Planning to visit Beijing in October and will then take the Beijing Guangzhou High speed train. Would like to make a few stops along the way . Which cities are worth the visit (2/3 days per city) before ending in Guangzhou?

Wuhan and Changsha are worth your visit. And from Changsha, you can make a side trip to Zhangjiajie, which is super popular in recent years.
